SJSU Orientation

I went to my SJSU orientation yesterday, and it was a good experience. It was more useful than the SFSU orientation because I actually learned some things. Also, they gave us a cool free flash drive that includes many links and PDF files. They locked those files so they cannot be deleted, and the rest of the flash drive has only 52.8 MB available for storing things.

New Puma Shoes

I had to wake up early today to get to Costco to buy 4 new car tires before too many people line up. My mom, Griselda, and I got there at about 10:20am and there were already a handful of people waiting in line. By the time it was my turn, the cashier said it would be about 1 to 1.5 hours before they get to change my car’s tires. So we ended up having to wait about 2 hours for them to finish. After that, we went to Marshalls and I got a new pair of PUMA 1198 HC Aged Silver/Black/High Risk Red Sneakers, for about $38!

Costco Member

I now have my own Costco membership card! My mom canceled my dad’s because they are always together, so it’s no point for each of them have one. It’s better for me to have my own so when I go to SJSU, I can shop at Costco for cheaper things.

New Used Car

My parents got a used 2007 Toyota Highlander for $16,995 + tax and fees! The Rav4 will be mine now so I can travel around when I go to SJSU. 😀

My mom found the car on Craigslist, and it’s pretty cheap with only 22k miles. It’s from Park Auto Sales in San Bruno. Here’s what the SUV is equipped with:

  • 3.3L V6
  • AUTOMATIC
  • 2WD
  • TRACTION CONTROL
  • STABILITY CONTROL
  • AIR CONDITIONING
  • POWER STEERING
  • TILT STEERING WHEEL
  • POWER WINDOWS AND DOORS LOCK
  • CASS/CD/AM/FM STEREO
  • DUAL FRONT AND REAR SIDE AIRBAGS
  • ABS (4-WHEEL)
  • POWER SEAT
  • THIRD ROW SEAT
  • MOON ROOF
  • ROOF RACK
  • PRIVACY GLASS
  • GRILLE GUARD
  • ALLOY WHEELS

I cannot see!

So sad… yesterday I went to the DMV to renew my drivers license. When it was my turn to go up to the counter to give the form to the lady, she saw that it said “Corrective Lens” on the paper which means I needed glasses. I wasn’t wearing any glasses, so the lady thought maybe there was a mistake on the paper and she let me do the eye test. “Read line A-1,” she said. “C D …” “Wrong, that’s not a D.” I looked more closely and it still looked like a D, so I said D again. Then she kind of gave me another chance, “If it’s not a D, what would it be?” I still couldn’t read it so I just guessed, “P?” “Nope, I really hope you wear glasses when you drive.” And that was that. I hope next time when I renew my license, I can pass the eye test so my license won’t have “RSTR: CORR LENS” on it anymore! In case you’re wondering, that second letter was an O.
