thursday, november 25 – happy thanksgiving! griselda and i woke up early today and my dad drove us to noriega & 21st avenue. what did we go there for? to catch the 8am bus to reno! she and i each paid $150 for the 2-way bus ride, 1 night hotel, and a ticket for the Raymond Lam and Linda Chung concert!
we got to reno at ~1pm, got our Silver Legacy hotel keys, put down everything in our room and rested a little bit. soon after, we decided to go out of the hotel and see how it was like outside in the streets. at first it seemed nice; there was some sunlight, but it was still chilly with soft white snow everywhere. as we wandered around to see what kind of shopping stores there were, it got kind of creepy, as if we were in the middle of alaska by ourselves. there were some local stores, but most of them were closed. there were not a lot of people walking around either… it seemed like griselda and i were in a ghost town.
so anyway, we decided to stop by a liquor store and i got 2 cans of joose, which is like an energy drink with alcohol. when we got back to the hotel, we got in bed and looked for something good to watch… and it was Kung Fu Panda. while watching that, i made it into a drinking game with this rule: everytime we heard panda/po, or master/shifu, we would take a drink of joose. i gotta say, we only finished 1 can together and we got pretty buzzed! i put the 2nd can of joose in my backpack to bring back to SF.
by 8pm, we got into the Reno Event Center where the chinese concert was held. it started at like 8:20pm and lasted 2 hours. the only song i knew was Nobody (a korean song) sung by linda chung in english! we were pretty hungry afterward because we hadn’t eaten yet, so we went straight to the hotel to look for a nice place to eat on the 2nd floor.
friday, november 26 – woke up around 11am today, ate lunch, and played a little bit of the video slot machines that were 1 cent per spin. i used $1 and i was up by 7 cents, but then i kept playing and lost all of it. we left reno at 2:30pm and got back to SF at ~7pm.
thursday, december 2 – i had ordered a wii component cable on 11/29/10 from monoprice.com, and it came today! it makes the wii graphics look a bit better. the cable only cost ($2.72 + $2.41 shipping + $0.49 tax) = $5.62! the quality of the cable is very good, and it’s well worth the money!
