i got the Blue Screen Of Death. stupid vista… the past 2-3 days i’ve been trying to fix it and i finally got it! it turns out that it is the KB973879 Windows Update that causes the blue screen on some vista x64 computers. so i removed that update and my computer is all good now. :] btw, i love the keyboard with backlight!

i watched District 9 yesterday night with griselda and i liked it! its a pretty interesting movie and i would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. i hope they make a sequel!

also, griselda bought a usb car mouse from border’s for 20 bucks. the front has blue head lights, and when you move the mouse, the back red tail lights turn on. it’s a cool mouse. border’s also had a wireless one for 25 bucks but it was purple.

august 8, saturday – griselda and i woke up early today so that we could watch G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra at 10:45am in century 20. you know early birds pay only $6.00 per ticket? 😀 anyway, it was a good movie with lots of action and explosions. i rate it 4 out of 5 stars.

DSC02574after the movie, we went to richmond to eat some thai food at Samila Thai. they changed the owner and remodeled the place… it looks better than before but i don’t think i will be going back there because it’s not worth it anymore. we went shopping a little bit and time flew by pretty fast. soon it was 7pm and we went to richard’s movie night at his house where we watched Tom-Yum-Goong (or The Protector, in english). its a very awesome movie with LOTS of fighting by Tony Jaa, who is basically a thai version of Bruce Lee! now this is a movie that i really like and i would give it 5 out of 5 stars.

after watching the movie with richard and his friends, it was around 11pm. griselda and i went with big vic to Classic Bowling where we met up nathan, elliot, sydney, samson, andy, and william. we were there for maybe 30 minutes and didn’t even bowl because only 3 of them wanted to. so we went to in-n-out to eat instead. after eating, we talked in front of in-n-out for about another 30 minutes… and we went home.

august 13, thursday – woke up at 7:30am and met up at joe’s house at 9am with griselda. kyle and harry were already there… and we were all waiting for carroll, who just woke up, and also had to pick up jeff along the way. by the time those 2 got to joe’s house it was already 9:55am! so what are we all doing at joe’s house this early? RAGING WATERS AT SACRAMENTO!!!

the 7 of us left joe’s house at like 10am and got there at noon… and there were like no cars in the parking lot. at first we thought it was closed, but later we realized that joe’s GPS brought us to the back exit! so carroll and joe parked their cars at the back and we walked to the front. at the parking booth, harry told the lady that we came in from the back and we didn’t pay for parking. she was cool though and said its no problem and we didn’t have to pay for parking!

anyway, we paid $28.99 each for our admission to raging waters and had a great time! i went on the following: Calypso Cooler Lazy River, Breaker Beach Wave Pool, Sting Ray, Hammerhead, Splashdown, Clifhanger Speed Slide, and Hurricane Speed Slide. we left the water park at 5:30pm and headed towards downtown davis for some sushi!

we arrived at Fuji, a sushi boat buffet. it was $16.95 per person and we can eat as much sushi as we want! i didn’t eat that much though because i was kind of full from eating at raging waters… after like 2-3 hours at Fuji and stacking our plates about 2 feet high, we left and stopped by jerry’s apartment near uc davis for a little bit and then we all went back to san francisco.

with $200 off instantly from hp.com, plus the $250 off coupon code (NBM5487) i found from slickdeals, the $1,224.99 laptop became $774.99! after the $73.62 tax and $16.00 recycling fee, the total was $864.61.

griselda and i went to richard’s movie night again. she was going to buy richard’s used Dell E248WFP 24″ monitor for $150 because he got a new one, however his new one has backlighting problems… so we have to wait til he exchanges it for another one or something. at richard’s movie night, we watched Point Break which i did not like… i would rate it 2 out of 5 stars. afterwards we watched The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, which i liked. i would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. it was then about 3am… and we went home.

as you may remember, i ordered a windwall jacket on july 16th from BackcountryOutlet… but when i got it on july 21st, it turned out that the small size was actually too small for me! so went to the north face store downtown and returned it. on july 27th, i saw the windwall for sale again, this time from Moosejaw.com for $59.99. using a coupon code (CJ10), 10% was subtracted, which made the total $53.99, with free shipping. it wasn’t as cheap as the first windwall i ordered, but it’s close enough.

DSC02522 DSC02524

i can say that i like moosejaw’s packaging alot more than BackcountryOutlet’s plain ol’ grey bag. moosejaw’s package comes with all these hilarious stickers on the flap and the person who put it together actually signs it too! inside the package not only has my windwall and invoice, but also includes a short note signed by “sam”, a booklet with products that they sell, a moosejaw bumper sticker, plus a free sample of a peanut butter pretzel “mojo” clif bar! i would not hesitate to shop from moosejaw again sometime in the future.

DSC02531and oh yeah, i was at ross today and finally found an aluminum bottle that i liked, for cheap! i actually want a stainless steel bottle, but anyway, the brand is OGGI and there is black, red, silver, purple, gold, and blue, only $4.99 each! no more drinking disposable water bottles for me anymore! according to the guy in my speech class, those disposable plastic water bottles can be harmful for you because they can leak chemicals when one is used alot or when exposed to the sun. most of them also end up in the landfill, which is bad for the earth. it takes a lot of energy and resources to make bottled water (uh oh, i smell global warming). plus, some of those companies came out and said that their water is actually just tap water (i.e. dasani and aquafina)! so instead of buying anymore bottled water, i’m just going to start drinking our own tap water from the sink. san francisco has the best tap water anyway, incase you didn’t know. 😀
